 MARY J. BROADBENT, 6TH GRADE – Mrs. Broadbent is in her 9th year as the 6th grade teacher of St. Mary's School.  She holds a degree in business education that she received from Northern Michigan University. She has 21 years of teaching experience with 11 years of substitute teaching in the public schools, and 1 year of teaching at Richland Center High School.  She has a great love for teaching and feels blessed to be able to share her faith with her students.  She is the mother of 5 children ranging in age from 34 to 17.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, doing any kind of brain games, and knitting. 

   

 

MARY COOPER, 5TH GRADE – Mrs. Cooper is in her 5th year at St. Mary’s.  Prior to teaching at St. Mary’s School, she was a substitute teacher for St. Mary’s as well as the Richland School District for 6 years.  She currently holds an Initial Educator Teaching License for grades K – 12.   She is a Co-Advisor with Ms. Donna Urbach for the St. Mary’s Student Council.  She has been married for 18 years to her husband Jerry, and they have two children, Ryley and Madison, who are in the 9th and 7th grades respectively.  She enjoys gardening, reading, riding in her woods on her ATV and John Deere Gator, volleyball, music, and caring for her menagerie of animals at home.

 

FABER, VICKI, PRINCIPAL – Ms. Faber is beginning her 3rd year as principal at St. Mary School.  She began her career as a middle level special education teacher in 1981.  In 1987, she became a high school special education teacher.  She served as Dean of Students at Richland Center High School for 2 years.  From 2001 - 2008, she was a teacher as well as the transition coordinator for the Richland School District.  She earned her administrative certification from Viterbo University in 2010.  She has worked in her parish's music program with youth since 1992.  She loves to cook and travel.  She is enjoying working with students at the K-8 level and loves the climate and culture of St. Mary School!

MARY STOWELL, 7TH GRADE

 

GEORGE LAUBMEIER, MUSIC AND COMPUTERS – George has been teaching at St. Mary's for 20 years. He began teaching at St. Mary's after retiring from 23 years in the Air Force. He also teaches piano lessons from beginners to adults to advanced college piano students. He's played piano and organ in the Catholic church for the last 46 years and continues in that endeavor for St. Mary's Parish. George's hobbies are electronics, music and computers. He has built a 3-manual virtual pipe organ in his home and is having a lifetime dream fulfilled playing theatre and classical organ music. He maintains 35+ Macintosh computers for our school and gets involved in all kinds of technology solutions for our parish. i.e. he's having the time of his life. George has been married for 46 years and has two children.

 

PATTI VLASAK, KINDERGARTEN

 

JUDY MURPHY, 4TH GRADE Mrs. Murphy is in her sixth full time year at St. Mary’s.  She taught one year in fifth grade and the past five years in 4th grade.  Mrs. Murphy holds an Associate’s Degree from UW-Richland and a Bachelor of Science in Education Degree from UW-Platteville.  She is currently working on a K-12 Reading Teacher License through Viterbo University.  Mrs. Murphy's hobbies include reading, walking, and watching football games.

 

BARBARA PLINER, 3RD GRADE – Mrs. Pliner graduated from Riverdale High School.  After that she went to UWC-Richland for two years and transferred to and graduated from UW-Platteville. She has a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education.  She has been teaching at St. Mary's since 1989. She is married and has two children. She likes to walk, swim, read, and scrapbook.  She also enjoys family movie night with her children and husband.

 

MANDY PYFFEROEN, 8TH GRADE– Mrs. Pyfferoen graduated from Cornell College with a BA in English.  She taught English and Spanish at St. Mary's from 1999 until 2005, when she took a break from teaching to start her family.  She taught Spanish at St. Mary's for the past 1 1/2 years.  She is currently completing the final stages of her teaching certification in English.  She also coaches cheerleading and girls' soccer at Richland Center High School. She and her husband Dean, have 2 children, Avery and Annika.  Her hobbies include watching the Brewers, Badgers, or Packers, reading, and writing.

 

CAROL SCHREIBER, PHYSICAL EDUCATION – Mrs. Schreiber received her BS degree from the University Wisconsin-La Crosse. She has a major in Physical Education with a minor in History. Mrs Schreiber taught in Minnesota and did some long term teaching in Wisconsin along with many years of substituting at area schools. She is in her 19th year at St. Mary’s. In her spare time Mrs. Schreiber enjoys reading, golf, long walks, watching sports and playing with her grandchildren.

 

DONNA URBACH, 2ND GRADE – Miss Urbach is in her 29th year of teaching, and it has been all in the second grade.  She holds a degree in Elementary Education from Viterbo University.  She has taken many classes to help her stay current with the latest trends in education.  She is truly passionate about her teaching career and can’t imagine doing anything else.  She enjoys sports, especially the Packers, Badgers, and the Brewers, reading, traveling, music, and gardening.  She is also a member of St. Mary’s parish family where she is involved with many of the activities of the church.  She lives in Muscoda with her mother and her best friend, Peanut.

 

MS. ANNE WILSON, 1ST GRADE – Ms. Wilson is in her 3rd year of teaching first grade at St. Mary's School.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, and has minors in both Early Childhood and Psychology.  She is licensed to teach from birth to sixth grade.  She graduated from Viterbo University in 2007.  This is her second year of teaching experience.  She's currently in charge of the Richland Center Youth Basketball program and coaches freshman girls basketball for the Richland Center Hornets.  She enjoys being around children and spending time with family and friends.
